John Hart
John Hart

About the Author - John Hart doesn’t play golf. While many blokes his age are working on their swing or arguing over who cheated at lawn bowls, John is usually off somewhere remote helping sort out problems in Indigenous communities or sitting at his desk writing… mostly to stay out of his wife’s hair. At 66, he calls himself “semi-retired,” but don’t believe it for a second. He’s still working as a consultant in the bush, troubleshooting community issues, developing youth programs, and gently refusing to play golf (again). Retirement? …. Never heard of her!! Now, don’t underestimate this boomer. He’s got a nursing qualification, a counselling qual, a background in exercise science, a Master’s in Disability with a focus on disability and rehab, quals in Business (let’s not forget the plumbing qual) and enough training certificates to wallpaper a “small - tiny house”. He’s also a documentary filmmaker not that there’s any money in that (trust him, he’s checked). From owning and running tourist resorts to being CEO of a community service organisation, John’s worn more hats than a race day marquee. He’s been writing books, policies, documentaries, and opinions on everything from health to motivation to leadership always with a bit of wit and a whole lot of lived experience. Yes, he can be annoying. Yes, he thinks he’s funny. But he genuinely loves helping people especially when it comes to cutting through the noise and giving real, honest advice.

John Hart is the author of 11 books, including LUNCHBOX LEGENDS: POWERING KIDS WITH REAL FOOD and Forever Youngish: The Longevity Revolution: Science based Secrets for a long, Healthy Life- An Effective Guide to Longevity and outlasting Everyone Else -“Well just maybe”. In addition to writing, they enjoy spending time on their other passions and interests. You can sign up to get updates about their writing here.

This Book Isn’t About Perfection - It’s About Perspective

This Book Isn’t About Perfection - It’s About Perspective

The opinions and insights contained in this book aren’t here to turn you into some idealized version of a calm, unflappable person who never gets angry, never makes mistakes, and always has it together. That’s not the goal, and frankly, it’s not realistic. Life is messy, and so are we....

Toxic Workplaces - By John Hart To be fair, I had never truly experienced

To be fair, I had never truly experienced the dark undercurrent of a toxic workplace until relocating to Gippsland, Victoria. After years as a CEO and running my own consultancy, I decided to take some time out and return to the coalface, securing a role in suicide prevention. I was genuinely excited, believing I had the skills and experience to make a difference. What I quickly discovered was an environment where ideas were not welcomed but dismissed. Every suggestion was met with a blunt “...

“The Black Sheep Perspective” - By: John Hart The world is slightly messed

The world is slightly messed up let’s be honest, maybe more than slightly. Each generation seems to think they’ve cracked the code, that they’re superior in wisdom, cooler in taste, sharper in thought. And yet, when you look closely, it’s the same story on repeat: everyone pointing fingers, declaring who’s “in” and who’s “uncool,” while quietly terrified they might be the ones on the outside. Social media has turned this insecurity into a circus. The platforms profit by pushing us against one...

The Joy of Shared Success… By:John Hart I don’t think it gets much better

I don’t think it gets much better than seeing someone laugh, smile, or simply radiate happiness especially when you know you had a hand in making that moment possible. There’s something deeply rewarding about contributing to another person’s success. I’ve never felt envy in those moments, only gratitude for being there to witness them. In fact, I often find that the achievements of others ignite something within me, pushing me to chase my own adventures and take on new challenges.

For me,...

That Pesky Voice We Hear… By:John Hart   That pesky voice inside our

That pesky voice inside our heads can be both a friend and a foe. It whispers encouragement when we need courage, yet far too often it delivers doubt, shame, guilt or criticism. What we sometimes forget is that the voice we hear is not only shaped by our own thoughts but also by the words we consume from others and the words we direct toward ourselves.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again,”words matter”. They have a way of taking hold in us. Strangely, the negative ones seem to cling far...
